My wife and I have a one hundred year old home located in the West End of
Peninsular Halifax which required a major basement renovation. About six
months ago we started to encounter plumbing problems and our basement was
leaking quite heavily during rain storms. Since we have two small children
we feared that this would create an unhealthy environment in the rest of the
home, as the basement was completely unlivable! We also realized we required
more space in our home and the only alternative was to overhaul the
basement, which would require a huge amount of work as it was nothing more
than a cellar.
Therefore the process for finding a suitable contractor began. I cannot
tell you how difficult this was as many had no idea on how to appropriately
tackle this problem. Dwight Habermehl was the only one able to come into our
home and offer viable solutions for our basement that would work within the
budget that we had. Dwight recommended that we dig down and replace all the
plumbing, provide adequate drainage to produce a basement that was healthy
and livable. Dwight and his crew were fantastic as they were consistently
helpful and approachable throughout the entire process. We were so impressed
with this group and their inherent professionalism that we recommend them at
every turn.
The basement that we have now is completely one hundred and eighty
degrees from where it was. We have been left with a living space that we are
proud to show our family and friends, as it is utterly beautiful! I am
Senior Manager of Facilities for a large Government Department and I have
managed to employ a lot of contractors but I would put Dwight Habermehl and
his group in the top two!
